Sydney
We're in Sydney right now! Excited for tonight.
Kieran
We're in Wollongong with Kieran, who took us bodysurfing today. We're going to another Kieran tomorrow. The other Kieran is in Stanswell Park.
Holiday from the travelling
Richard and I have both found out how tired backpacking-travelling could be. So we decided that a 10-days holiday before we return for Sweden would be good. Somewhere warm with white beaches and nice resorts. I found a really CHEAP ticket from Kuala Lumpur to London on the 24th of March and I bought it! So I will probably take my holiday somewhere around Malaysia, maybe Bali or Phuket. Richard haven't decided yet...
GOD JUL!
This is Jane, our lovely host in Malua Bay, with Caroline who also is a couchsurfer who visited Jane. They are both enjoying a bowl of nypponsoppa with Anna's pepparkakor and ice-cream.

Richard at a wonderful beach in Jervis Bay.
Me and Troy a few minutes ago. Troy is one of the two poodles that we're now looking after.

We're at the beach! Just like we plan to be today.

Our host-couple Brendon and Jo and us after their 9-year old daughter, Lucida, decorated us.

Our EXTREMELY lucky day!
We got desperate yesterday when we realised that we had nowhere to stay for the next night, no plans and everybody are busy for the holiday. So we sent out two desperate requests on couchsurfing.org and tried to call to a couple of hostels, with no luck. So the only plan was to hitch-hike our way from our host-family in to the unknown. Before we went down to the road this morning I logged on to couchsurfing.org in case we had got a reply. Beleive it or not, we had!
Ken and Jill in Kiama are going up to Sydney to celebrate Christmas tomorrow. We're staying here for tonight with them and then looking after their two poodles and house until they come back on Sunday! It is absolutely wonderful to meet all this helpful people out here! This gives us some time to actually plan ahead for our next move. So here we are, hitch-hiked here with only one car and now have had a great lunch with our savers.
We could probably put up some pictures later but now do we need to socialise.
New friends
We left some friends this morning, Jane and Caroline, to find some new one. One activity that makes you meet a lot of friends in a short amount of time is hitch-hiking, so that was what we did. We manage to meet an old couple, two young surfers and one middle-age man through the cars that we got a lift with. Not to forget is our new friend Jake that met us at a petrol-station, hooked us up to the Internet on his laptop and helped us to get in contact with our new couch-surfing host. Jake also gave us a big meal of fish&chips, on the house! That guy definitely have a place to stay in Sweden on his Europe-trip :)
Now we're staying with Jo and Brendon and their daughter in their little farm in Jengawalla which doesn't even exist on our map. This will be our 10th couchsurfing-night in a row!

Ginger-bread houses
Laura took me with her for a "girl-only" afternoon with her friends. The big goal was to make 4 ginger-bread houses and one tent (my backpacking-ginger-bread-house). In turned out to be a great afternoon with good fun! Especially nice to get a break from the every day travelling and sight-seeing activities and instead do something "normal".

Lots of lollies for decoration.

My backpacking tent.

All of us with our ginger-bread houses, mission complete!

Picture update from the last week
Here is Richard on his 25th birthday, celebrating with bubble and strawberries in our cottage, North Hobart.

Unfortunately in Hobart
After a relaxing weekend in our own private cottage with lots of bubble and strawberries were we ready to fly to Melbourne. But no, the flight yesterday was cancelled. So we spent a restless Sunday in Hobart and slept one night in a 20-bed dorm, long way from our private lounge, backyard, toilet and kitchen that we had in the cottage.
We're on a new flight today and hopefully it departures.
Back in Hobart
So we're back in Hobart and in the today's newspaper could you read about the group of killer-whales that came into the river yesterday! I hope they hang around for a few days so we could spot them! Tomorrow is Richard's 25th birthday and we're going out on a day-trip with a man that we met last week at the Cascade brewery. He and his wife wants to take us for platypus spotting! So hopefully, we will tomorrow see these fascinating animals.
Have a great weekend!
Lazy weekend
We're having a chill weekend here in Hobart. We cooked Leesa a Swedish dinner yesterday and she took us to a few nice spots outside town. Spectacular view of Hobart from the top of Mt. Wellington! Tomorrow we're going to Coles Bay which is up north on the east coast. It is Leesa's favourite place in Tassie and we have heard that it will be around 27C there during this week! Hope you enjoy the snow.

Pictures from our camping adventures
First bushcamper, first morning, but could you see what's wrong with the picture?

Morning-tea!

Breakfast-mate for the second morning!

New upgrade of campervan, a 7 meter motor home!

Beware of Echidnas!

Rebecka in the wonderland!

Today we have visited the Cascade brewery and we got so many free beers that we didn't bother to do anything more for the rest of the day...
